Dear Jessica and Jason:

As you embark on this beautiful journey of marriage together, know that life will be full of twists and turns but in the end, you will always have one another.

You are both very special people who have accomplished very special things in your lives. Reach for the stars, but be unwavering and unswerving in your ethics. You are all of that and more, Jessica, and that's why we welcome you into our lives.

We are so proud of all that you've done and all that you will do in your life together, both personally and professionally. Be prudent and judicious in your decisions and cautious about the risks you take. But have the courage to risk. Jessica, you have risked much in your life and have overcome physical obstacles that few others could have mastered. We welcome the courage and strength that you will surely bring to Jason's life… and he to yours.

Hold fast to your principles and beliefs. Don't ever let anyone or anything ever be so important that it will come between you. Your love will endure all the barriers and impediments that life is bound to throw at you. Jessica, your bravery and strength is an inspiration not only to Jason but to all of us who have come to know and admire you. We respect you for your valor in the face of physical challenges that would make cowards out of most people.

Be of strong faith and embrace your love and commitment when things don't go as you hope they would. Make this voyage through life so special that you'll look back on it without regret 75 years from now.

Be amorous and affectionate and embrace change. Mourn only loss of life, not loss of opportunity. Opportunity awaits those who pursue it. Jessica and Jason, you've both pursued becoming Olympians. There is no shame in not winning a gold medal, only in not trying. You both bring that kind of dedication and devotion to everything you've done.

One of your greatest strengths, Jessica, is your patience and fortitude. You bring a wealth of that to your relationship with Jason. He will do well to model his life after you in that regard, persisting and enduring until life's tasks are accomplished.

Be gentle when a course correction is necessary and make no mistake; course corrections are always necessary in life. When you need love the most is when you often get it the least. In our eagerness to hurry through life's difficult and daunting challenges, it's easy to loose faith and let doubt creep into your life.

Don't succumb to skepticism and suspicion. Remember, 90% of the things we worry about will never come to pass. Worry and regret are the tremendous price you pay up front for things that may never happen. Jessica, your optimism and warmth disarms those who may have misgivings, and we're so pleased that you bring calm and trust to your bond with Jason.

Your enthusiasm is infectious Jessica. The word enthusiasm comes from a Greek word "entheos" meaning God within. Your passion and fervor is what you bring to your relationship with Jason and it will inspire him to do great things in his life both for you and with you. Maintain your zest and gusto for the best life has to offer.

When we think of your many attributes Jessica, your sense of humor is at the forefront. You take the small things seriously and you keep the serious side of life in perspective.
